Frequently Asked Questions

Am I in good enough shape for this? 

 

YES! This program is endlessly modifiable for all ages, shapes, sizes, and skill levels. 

What if I don't know the movements in the workout?

 

Every workout includes a full breakdown of the warm-up movements, workout movements, and cool down stretches that are on the docket. Each movement has a demonstration video that includes every variation and modification that a person might need so that no matter your skill level or given equipment, you will see a version that you can do.

I'm working out at home. What will I need? 

 

In order to successfully complete the At-Home versions of this program, a couple of items will be essential:

 

▸ A pair of dumbbells that you can press over your head 5-10 times. I have been doing this program myself with a pair of 50's, but I've had my athletes testing workouts with everything from 10's to 35's. It's all about what's right for YOU! If you cannot safely press a dumbbell over your head 5 times, it's way too heavy. If you can do more than 10, it's probably a little light. When in doubt, always go too light! 

 

▸ A suspension trainer of some kind. The most common suspension trainer these days is the TRX straps which are a great product, but are by far the most expensive. My favorite is the much, much cheaper Jungle Gym XT. By far, the most affordable way to achieve what we need would be to buy a pair of gymnastics rings and straps and just hang the straps over your door. 

 

Here's a list of a few more things that would be helpful, but are not technically essential to meet the minimum requirements for the program:

▸ PVC Pipe or broomstick ~5 ft. in length (to mimic a barbell and use for some stretches) 

▸ Yoga mat or rubber flooring (to protect you and the floor from each other)

▸ Pull up bar

▸ Jump Rope

Ab Mat 

▸ Alternate sizes of dumbbells or kettlebells. (The wider the selection, the better!)
